How I see it

What matters isn't the new website, it's what the old one had already earned

Before designing anything, I write down what can't be lost: the pages that bring customers, the links that give you strength and the searches you already win. Then we migrate.

Where are you right now?

  • You're about to redesign your website

New design, new pages, new copy. If the addresses change without a plan, Google loses what you already had.

  • You're changing domain or platform

From WordPress to something else, from one shop platform to another or to a new domain. It's the riskiest moment for your SEO.

  • You've already migrated and visits dropped

You made the change and since then fewer customers come in. A good part of it can almost always be recovered.

Straight talk

Is this a good fit?

If I can’t help you, I’d rather tell you before we start.

It’s for you if…

  • You're going to change domain, platform or design
  • Your website already brings you customers from Google
  • You've already migrated and lost visits

It’s not for you if…

  • Your website is new and has nothing to lose yet
  • You're launching tomorrow and there's no room to change anything: if so, I'll tell you before we start
SEO migrations

What I do

  1. I inventory everything that ranks today

All your URLs, which ones bring visits and links, and what must not be lost under any circumstances.

  2. I redirect every old address to its new page

Every old address points to its new page, one by one, so Google and your customers end up in the right place.

  3. I check the new website before it goes live

I test the new website on a staging site: titles, links, speed, structured data and indexing.

  4. I watch Search Console in the weeks after the switch

I watch Search Console for the first few weeks and immediately fix anything that doesn't behave as expected.

  5. I recover what was lost if you've already migrated

If you've already migrated and lost visits, I find the missing redirects and the pages that got left behind.

What I see every day

The mistakes I see most

I do 3 to 4 migrations a year. These are the failures that come up most when I arrive at a website that has already migrated:

  • Orphaned business pages

The pages that sell end up with no internal links because there was no content strategy, and Google stops giving them importance.

  • Redirect loops

Redirects that jump from one page to another and never get anywhere. Google gives up and your customer hits an error.

  • Articles stronger than your services

Informational pages that get more internal links than the ones that sell, so they rank instead of your services.

FAQ

What people usually ask me

What is an SEO migration?

It's any big change to your website that can affect how Google sees it: changing domain, platform, design or URL structure. If it isn't planned, Google loses track of what already ranked.

When should I let you know?

Before touching anything. The earlier SEO comes into a migration, the lower the risk and the cost.

How much traffic is lost when migrating?

It depends on the website and how it's planned. It's normal for Google to take a few weeks to settle the changes; the goal is not to lose anything permanently, and that's why I watch every page that matters.

What if I've already migrated and lost visits?

It can be reviewed. I compare your website before and now, find what was lost and recover it in order of impact.

How much does a migration cost?

Every business has a different problem and a different solution, so I don't sell fixed packages: the work fits what you need. You can start with a free local SEO consultation: in under 48 hours I'll send you your gap map and, with that, tell you what I'd do.

Shall we talk for 15 minutes?

A short call to see if we’re a good fit. If we are, we’ll set up another day to talk about your project properly; if not, I’ll tell you that too.
