ecomars: website and local SEO for a solar panel installer in Estepona
How a solar panel and pumping system installer in Estepona went from word of mouth to getting WhatsApp messages, calls and quote requests from Google.
Services used:

- Sector
- Renewable energy: solar panels and pressure pumping systems · Estepona
- Project
- Website, brand, Google listing, local SEO and measurement
- 13enquiries in the first quarter (10 WhatsApp, 2 calls and 1 form)
- 35visits in that same quarter
- 310Google listing views (58% in search and 42% in Maps)
The starting point: a good business only its own circle knew about
ecomars installs solar panels and pumping systems in Estepona. It got customers almost entirely through word of mouth and direct contact.
It had no online presence. It didn’t show up when someone in the area searched for its services on Google, and it didn’t have an easy way to request a quote either.
The business worked, but it was fragile: it depended entirely on recommendations continuing to come in. The challenge wasn’t getting lots of visits, but having its own channel, measurable and bringing in customers from the area.
What I did
A website built to get people in touch
I built a website focused on getting in touch, with WhatsApp, a direct call and a form within reach on any screen, so requesting a quote took a single tap.
A brand that conveys trust
In a sector where the customer makes a big investment, trust is everything. I gave the brand a professional image that set it apart from the competition in the area.
Google listing and local SEO
I set up and optimised its Google listing and wrote content for the searches in its area, to appear both on Google and on Maps.
Buttons and forms that don’t get lost
WhatsApp and phone calls to action always visible, clear forms and a design that works just as well on mobile. The website had to convert, not just exist.
Measuring everything
I set up Search Console, GA4 and measurement for every WhatsApp message, every call and every form, to improve based on real data and not by eye.
What we achieved
In its first quarter, with 35 visits, the website generated 13 real enquiries: 10 WhatsApp conversations, 2 calls and 1 request through the form.
At the same time, the Google listing added up 310 views, split between search (58%) and Maps (42%), mostly from mobile, which is normal when someone is looking for something nearby. Since launch, the website has built up 8,060 impressions on Google.
ecomars stopped depending only on word of mouth: it now has its own measured channel that already brings it customers from its area.

What we both gained
What the client gained
Its own channel that no longer depends on word of mouth: customers in its area who message on WhatsApp, call or ask for a quote, with every enquiry measured.
What I took away
A business starting out online doesn’t compete on having lots of visits, but on converting the few it has. With 35 visits and 13 enquiries, this project shows that a small, well-made website brings in more than a big one nobody knows how to use.
- Every enquiry is measured. I know what brings customers and what doesn’t, and I can improve based on data.
- I’d rather show you 13 real enquiries than a huge percentage based on three clicks.
- For a local business, the Google listing matters as much as the website. Covering Google and Maps properly is what puts you in front of the customer when they decide who to call.
- It’s a project that’s just starting, and I say so plainly. It has a long way to go, and knowing where each of us stands is the basis of a relationship that lasts.
