Ecolodger: an international directory of eco-friendly accommodation, from scratch
I designed and positioned Ecolodger from scratch, an international directory of eco-friendly accommodation, with SEO for several countries and measurement for every category.
Services used:

- Sector
- Sustainable tourism and eco-friendly accommodation · international reach
- Project
- Booking platform and directory, international SEO, content and measurement
The starting point: an idea with demand and scattered information
Sustainable tourism is growing, but information about eco-friendly accommodation was scattered and hard to find.
The challenge was to create from scratch an international directory connecting travellers with certified eco-friendly accommodation, able to grow and designed for Google from day one.
What I did
A platform that’s easy to explore
I designed a clear, mobile-friendly platform, organised by location, type of accommodation and eco certification.
Searches from several countries
I researched global and local searches, such as «ecolodges in Costa Rica», «sustainable tourism in Europe» or «eco-friendly accommodation in Asia», and optimised each page for its own search.
Content that builds authority
I planned a blog on responsible tourism and sustainability to strengthen the brand’s authority and attract quality links.
The technical side
I took care of the hosting, domains, database and security, so the platform ran smoothly and reliably.
Measuring every category and every region
I set up GA4 and Search Console to measure visits, enquiries and behaviour by category, region and content.
What we achieved
Ecolodger launched as an international directory designed for search engines and easy to use for travellers all over the world.
Measuring by category, region and content makes it possible to know what works in each market and keep improving the platform with data.
What we both gained
What the client gained
An international platform ready to grow, designed for search engines from day one and with data for each market to decide where to put the effort.
What I took away
In an international project, structure is everything. Organising properly from the start by country, type and category is what lets you grow without the website turning into a maze for Google and for the traveller.
«Ecolodger was born with the vision of connecting conscious travellers with certified eco-friendly accommodation. Thanks to the digital and SEO strategy, we managed to position ourselves as a global reference in sustainable tourism.»
